After a long 48 hour drive from his home town of Wausau, WI to Irwindale, California, Chris Wimmer was ready to restart the ASA season after his disappointing outing at the first race at Lakeland, Florida where he wrecked his car in hot laps after breaking a trailing arm and smashing into the turn one wall.
Chris was 8th in practice with a time of 18.368 . After a difficult qualifying run with a time of 18.567, 96.496 miles per hour Chris ended up in the 20th starting position.
On lap 73 Chris got together with another car and hit between the turn three and turn four walls. Unfortunately the car received too much damage to continue in the race and Chris had to park his Wisconsin Cheesecake Monte Carlo behind the wall.
Chris finished in the 25th position.
