Duraflame Ford Finishes 9th

Start: 20th
Finish: 9th
Loudon, NH (July 17, 2006) Scott Wimmer and Brewco Motorsports Duraflame Racing team proved this weekend that persistence pays off as the group turned what started as a long weekend into a top-10 finish.
The Duraflame Ford was a handful for Wimmer right off the truck. He was too tight in first practice but gradually got faster during final practice. A loose car during qualifying led to Wimmer starting 20th but with the improvements throughout the weekend, both driver and crew felt they could get a top finish out of the Duraflame Ford.
Wimmer was uncomfortably loose when the race began. He held onto the Duraflame Ford and was running around 18th during the early laps. The Brewco Motorsports crew went to work adjusting on the Duraflame Ford every chance they had. Slowly the car began to come around and Wimmer worked his way up through the field.
Wimmer was caught a lap down by a dominating Clint Bowyer midway through the race but held his ground and received the lucky dog pass to regain his position on the lead lap. Once back on the lead lap, Wimmer quickly broke into the top-10 and was seen as high as 6th. Wimmer and the Duraflame Ford went on to finish 9th
Today was fun, said Wimmer. The Duraflame Ford was really tight in practice but these guys worked really hard to improve it for the race. The car really came around at the end of the race and was so much fun to drive. Pit stops were awesome today probably some of the best stops weve had all year. I cant thank Newt Moore, Clarence Brewer and everyone at Brewco Motorsports enough for the chance to get in the Duraflame Ford this season.
