Scott Wimmer On Nashville: Scott Wimmer has an average finish of 3.5 at Nashville Superspeedway.

“Every time I’ve gone there, I’ve done real well,” said Wimmer. “Since it is a new track, no one has a lot of laps logged there, so it events out the playing field, so maybe that is why I’ve excelled there. The track is high-banked and has a lot of grip, which seems to suit my driving style. We tested there earlier this year and ran well there this spring and in last year’s event. I feel like you have to be fast on the bottom of the track and off the corner well to be successful there. There tends to be a lot of wrecks in the Busch races, so if you can stay out of trouble, you’ll have a good finish.”

Lucky Charm?:Wimmer wore a Dick Trickle t-shirt last weekend that was given to him by one of his friends at Dover International Speedway and finished fourth, so he now considers it a good luck charm and will wear it again this weekend at Nashville to see if it will bring him the same luck.

“Basically grew up watching Dick Trickle race as he raced against my uncle, Larry Detjens, and my family is still good friends with Dick,” said Wimmer. “And seeing Trickle’s past accomplishments at Dover, I thought wearing his t-shirt would bring me good luck. I’ll wear this weekend again at Nashville and hope that it will bring me more good luck.”

“The King of Concrete”:Out of the eight times Wimmer has raced on concrete surfaces, he has posted six top-10 finishes, with an average finish of 8.5. Of the three races in 2002 on concrete surfaces, Wimmer has three top-five finishes.

“My father and I were trying to figure out why I do so well on concrete tracks and we could only come up with one thing,” said Wimmer. “I spent four years working with my father’s construction business while I was growing up and I poured a ton of concrete for his business, so I feel like I am ‘one’ with concrete.”
