Chris Wimmer Returns to the NCTS at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Chris Wimmer returns to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Saturday in the Smith’s Las Vegas 350 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Wimmer climbs back behind the wheel of the #76 Automotive Fabrication Chevrolet for Jeff Milburn Racing. Also supporting the #76 Chevrolet this weekend is the rock band Reverend Horton Heat and the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower, the Official Las Vegas Area Hotel of Jeff Milburn Racing.

“It’s been a lot of fun to be back in Dallas at the shop this week helping to get the truck ready for this weekend,” stated Wimmer. “I’m really looking forward to being back on track with the Craftsman Truck Series.”

This weekend will be Wimmer’s 22nd career start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, however, it is his first visit to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway behind the wheel of an NCTS truck. This will be Wimmer’s second NCTS start for the 2007 season. Wimmer and the Jeff Milburn Racing team finished 30th in the Sam’s Town 400 at Texas Motor Speedway in June, retiring early due to engine problems.

“We had such a strong start in that race,” Wimmer stated. “I’m looking forward to using that momentum at Vegas. Hopefully we can get a good finish and demonstrate what we can do.”

Wimmer has spent his summer running Late Model races across Wisconsin, climbing behind the wheel of the family-owned and operated Wimmer Racing No. 25 Chevrolet. Wimmer participated in the Larry Detjens Memorial at Golden Sands Speedway, the Miller Lite Slinger Nationals at Slinger Speedway, the Wisconsin All-Star 50 at the Milwaukee Mile, and the Wisconsin Challenge Series Championship 80 at the Marshfield Super Speedway.
