Scott Wimmer Event Preview No. 23 Stacker 2/YJ Stinger Chevrolet Monte Carlo Memphis Motorsports Park

News

Wimmer on Memphis: Scott Wimmer, driver of the No. 23 Stacker 2/YJ Stinger Chevrolet, is the defending race winner of the Sam’s Town 250 at Memphis Motorsports Park.  In three starts at Memphis, his average finish is 9.0.

“I absolutely love when we get to race at the short tracks,” said Wimmer.  “Having a great car is always important, but at the short tracks, people factor into the equation more…the driver has to be good and pit strategy and track position are key.  Memphis is a great short track on the NASCAR circuit, where you have the room to race but can still lean on the next guy.”

Special Visitors: Bill Davis Trucking is headquartered in Batesville, Arkansas, which is located approximately 90 minutes northwest of Memphis.  It is the closest track to the trucking headquarters and the team will host almost 22 employees over the race weekend.  Last year, the trucking company’s logos decorated the No. 23 car that went to victory lane.  The team sent the bumper of the car to the trucking company as a trophy to commemorate the race win.

Special Paint Scheme: Action Performance Companies Inc. and Universal Studios have collaborated to bring the classic monsters of Halloween to Memphis Motorsports Park.  Drivers Scott Wimmer, Greg Biffle, Mike Bliss and Kyle Busch will create the scary race-day quartet via a special paint scheme program that features Universal’s Monsters characters.  Wimmer will carry the Dracula paint scheme while Biffle will feature The Wolf Man, Bliss will sport Frankenstein and Busch will have The Mummy on his car.

“I’m pretty excited about our special paint scheme this weekend on our Stacker 2 car,” said Wimmer.  “We don’t get the opportunity too often to change the paint scheme and the car design is really cool.  I feel I’ve got the best character on my car, Dracula, because he’s a lot like me…he’s a lover, not a fighter.”

Equipment: Wimmer and the No. 23 Stacker 2/YJ Stinger team are taking the same car to Memphis they competed with earlier this year at Richmond.

Appearances: Wimmer will make the following appearances during the Memphis race weekend:

·         Wimmer will sign autographs on Thursday, October 16th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sam’s Town Tunica property located in Robinsonville, Mississippi.

·         Wimmer will make an appearance at the Stacker 2/YJ Stinger interactive display/sampling trailer located on Memphis Motorsports Park property on Saturday, October 18th from approximately 10:10 a.m. to 10:25 a.m.
