Chris Wimmer to the Music City for Adam Petty Memorial All-American 400 Weekend

News

Chris Wimmer will be making the drive this weekend from Wisconsin to Nashville, Tennessee to compete in the 25th Annual All-American 400 Weekend. The All-American 400, known as the Super Bowl of Short Track Races, will have special meaning this year to both competitors and race fans as it will be run in memory of the late Adam Petty. This weekend’s events mark the end of the season at the Music City Motorplex. Wimmer will compete in the 300-lap CRA Super Series event.

“I’m really excited to be back in Nashville,” said Wimmer. “This track has family history for me. I raced here with ASA and my Uncle Larry [Detjens] used to race the All-American 400 in the 70’s with my dad on his crew. Back then he raced against Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace, and Dick Trickle.”

Wimmer returns to the 0.596-mile asphalt track this weekend where he finished ninth in 2001 while running in the ASA Series.  The No. 52 Wimmer Racing entry carries associate sponsors Philly’s Subs and Gyro’s and Joe Rader Towing from Wausau, Wisconsin. The team is still in search of primary sponsorship for this event and future events with Chris Wimmer behind the wheel. Interested parties should contact Ron Wimmer atwimm@wimmerracing.com

Practice for the All-American 400 takes place Friday November 2nd from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., rotating between the CRA and ASA Series. The CRA Super Series will also practice on Saturday November 3rd, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. CRA Super Series Qualifying begins at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon with the top-25 qualifiers securing starting positions for Sunday’s race. Look for Wimmer at the on-track Autograph Session Sunday November 4th at 11:30 a.m. Racing is scheduled to begin on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with the CRA Blue-Gray 100. This is the last-chance event for all cars not locked-in from qualifying times or CRA Super Series points. The top-five finishers transfer to the feature event. The Adam Petty Memorial All-American 300 is scheduled to go green at approximately 2:30 p.m. All times are listed as Central.
