SCOTT WIMMER QUOTES:
You are taking a brand new race car to Bristol. Is that unusual for most teams?
In years past, it has been. It seems like you always went to Bristol with a car that was a little smashed up or one that you wanted to get rid of. I am fortunate to be with a race team that believes in having a great car at every race track. The fact that I am taking one of the best race cars in the shop to Bristol is a little unheard of but that shows how competitive that we are and that we want win every race. We are going there with the best possible car that we can.
Is Bristol one of your favorite tracks on the NASCAR Busch Series circuit?
I love going racing at Bristol. It is definitely a tight race track and hard to pass. We have put on some really exciting races there. Some years we can have races with few cautions and other years we will 10- 15 cautions and we cant seem to get on a roll. I hope we wont have many cautions this year because the green-flag racing is so good. It makes it exciting for the fans and fun for the drivers. You have to have a great handling race car and you have to have a lot of strategy to put your car up front. You dont want to have to come up through the pack and run the risk of tearing up your car.
Your teammate Jeff Burton has two straight wins in the NASCAR Busch Series. Does that motivate you to keep up the momentum?
It definitely motivates me. Jeff has done an unbelievable job in the three races he has run. He has been in the top 10 each time and two of those are wins. It is a tough act to follow. He is doing well and that is what we need. It is exciting to have that after our problems at Mexico. Jeff has made up a lot of points in the past two weeks. He got our car back up in the owners points and that is where we are contending for a championship. I am excited and I think that the team has a lot of momentum heading into Bristol. I am really fired up because I was at Atlanta last week and when you are involved in a win then it makes you even more excited for the next race. I will be in the car for the next two weeks and I hope that we can continue the success.
