Chris and Scott Wimmer will be returning to Dells Speedway Park, at Wisconsin Dells, WI on Tuesday June 12th to race in the American Speed Association Midwest Tour race. Other NASCAR drivers scheduled to compete are Johnny Sauter, Travis Kvapil, Erik Darnell, and Tim Sauter.
Scott started racing at the Dells motor Speedway in the Sportsman Division in 1992. . He won the Super Late Model Championship at Dells Motor Speedway in 1996 and was runner up the two previous years. He won the Rookie of the Year honors in 1994. In 1997 Scott raced in the Hooters Late Model Series and won Rookie of the Year honors. In 1998 Scott moved on to race in the Hooters Pro Cup Series for two years. He returned to Dells Motor Speedway and won the North American Cup 100 and the Season Championship Race. In 2000 he raced the ASA Series for one year and then on to the NASCAR Busch and Nextel Cup Series.
Chris started racing at Dells Motor Speedway in the Pure Stock Division in 1996. He won the season point championship at State Park Speedway that year. After two years of Pure Stock racing he moved up to the Super Late Model Division. In 1998 he won the CWRA Race of Champions at Golden Sands Speedway and Rookie of the Year at State Park Speedway. In 1999 Chris finished 2nd in Points, 3rd in the Miller Series and 4th in the Budweiser Series and won the Season Championship Race at Dells Motor Speedway. In 2001 Chris moved up to the ASA Series and took the wheel of the family-owned ride, vacated by older brother Scott when he was hired to run in the NASCAR Busch Series for Bill Davis Racing. He earned his first career ASA pole at Elko Speedway in 2003 In 2004 and 2005 Chris ran a limited NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule moving up the the NASCAR Busch Series in 2006.
